Shandong Province of China, origin of the State of Qi and Lu during the Spring and Autumn period, is also known as “Qi Lu”, or “Lu” for short. Shandong is one of the many birthplaces of ancient Chinese culture, and the hometown of Confucius and Mencius. This is where Mount Tai stands tall, and where the Yellow River meets the sea.

In 1978, Shandong’s first TV series, The Entrustment of the People, was released. Bathing in the spring breeze of reform and opening-up, Lu Opera set sail from there on. Over the past 43 years, film and TV industry in Shandong has grown substantially – more than 60 quality dramas winning 88 national awards, such as the Five First Project Award, the Flying Apsaras Award, the Golden Eagle Award, the Huabiao Award, and the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Award, forging majestic milestones in the literary and artistic landscape of the motherland.
